How to replace the gas spring on a Step 'n Wash

If your Step 'n Wash no longer self-retracts, or it is stuck in the "down" position, it is time to replace the gas spring inside your Step 'n Wash. The gas inside of the gas springs (often called shocks or struts) expires after 2-3 years of use.
