Thoughtful design

It looks simple. But every aspect of Step ‘n Wash has been carefully considered.

You’ll appreciate its hands-free operation and minimal moving parts, neutral style and materials that harmonize with other restroom fixtures.

This is a discreet restroom addition that’s set back under the sink: there when your customers need it, out of the way when they don’t.

Strong and durable materials

You don’t need to worry about rust, corrosion, stains, discoloration or any other visual wear and tear with the stainless steel construction. In fact, Step 'n Wash units that were installed when we launched in 2007 are still looking good today.

The rubber tread, gas spring, and product label are typically replaced every 2-3 years, and are simple to reorder.

Peace-of-mind safety

Step ‘n Wash has been tested and approved for loads up to 800 lbs; it won’t buckle or bend when used. Even if it’s wet, children and little people can use the step safely thanks to a ridged, marine-grade rubber tread that runs right to the edge.

The hidden gas spring means no sudden movements to startle little ones - and it minimizes wear on the hinges. Because Step ‘n Wash automatically returns itself to its vertical position under the counter, it’s not a tripping hazard.

Simple installation

Your maintenance team will be able to install Step ‘n Wash in around 15 minutes. No special tools or skills are needed. You’ll be provided with all the necessary installation hardware, as well as detailed instructions, with every unit.

Once it’s installed, don’t forget to affix your Step ‘n Wash mirror sticker to alert your customers to your helpful new restroom addition.

Visit the Step 'n Wash installation page to learn more.

Low maintenance

You’ll almost be able to set it and forget it. Simply instruct your cleaning staff to include it in their regular rotation, using their typical cleaning products. Using any standard stainless steel cleaner will make sure your Step 'n Wash unit shines like a brand new step.

Caulking the step’s supports during installation prevents water from pooling under them and makes mopping around the unit a breeze.

Simple sink maintenance can be done without having to remove the step. For more extensive plumbing work, Step ‘n Wash can be removed in about 5 minutes and reinstalled after the plumbing work.

Step ‘n Wash is a great family-friendly feature in our restrooms at Whole Foods Market.

It makes a trip to the restroom with a young child less of a balancing act. And it also cuts down on the amount of water that gets splashed onto the floor.

You’re looking for a quick, affordable accessibility upgrade that can easily work in your existing space.

Your restroom has more than one sink. Because Step ‘n Wash is affixed to the floor directly in front of the sink, it obstructs wheelchair access for that sink.

As long as at least one sink has required clearance for wheelchair users, your restroom will remain ADA compliant and accessible to all.
